Parliamentary Paper Trail: Labour's Pakistani Rape Gang Cover-Up Exposed
When those entrusted to protect the vulnerable instead shield the perpetrators, we're no longer talking about failure—we're talking about betrayal. Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, Andy Burnham, and senior Labour politicians including Jim McMahon and Debbie Abrahams now stand implicated in one of Britain's most devastating cover-ups: the systematic exploitation of working-class girls by Pakistani Rape Gangs.
1. The Myth of a "Comprehensive" Review
The facade began to crack with Rayner's first deception. On parliamentary letterhead, she lauded Andy Burnham's review as "one of the most comprehensive safeguarding reviews undertaken." The truth? This "comprehensive" review managed to interview exactly one survivor—and only then because Maggie Oliver, a relentless advocate for victims, forced their hand. One survivor. In a case involving thousands of potential victims. Let that sink in. It also had no power to compel witnesses to testify and even relied on those being investigated to supply the evidence used to investigate them. Here is an extract from Maggie Oliver's statement. You can find the full statement here.
2. The False Dawn of Progress
While Rayner celebrated "recognition and progress" in tackling exploitation, the reality painted a horror story. Pakistani rape gangs operated with impunity through shisha bars during 2011-2013, grooming and raping children while Oldham Council actively worked to keep these crimes hidden from public view. Zero reported convictions during this period speak volumes about this supposed "progress." Here is an extract from the Assurance Review.
3. The Support That Never Was
Perhaps most cynical was the claim that "the vast majority of victims are well supported." The review's own findings shattered this illusion. They examined just ten cases - a fraction of the whole - and found serious failures in every single one. Not most. Not some. Every. Single. Case. Both the local authority and Greater Manchester Police failed in their most basic duty: protecting children.
4. The Present Danger Denied
"These incidents are not current cases," Rayner assured. This masterclass in misdirection hinged on one crucial detail: the review was deliberately restricted to 2011-2014. It did not look at what was taking place now. Evidence suggests the exploitation continues, but the review's careful limitations allowed officials to look away while maintaining plausible deniability.
5. Empty Promises, Hollow Words
While claiming "our priority has always been supporting the victims," Rayner and colleagues, including MPs Debbie Abrahams and Jim McMahon, actively worked against victims' interests. Instead of championing a public inquiry, they focused their energy on silencing campaigners through arrests and malicious prosecutions. When that failed, McMahon in particular, resorted to accusing members of the public of being racist and far right.
6. Time's Convenient Shield
Rayner's declaration that "the passage of time should not be a barrier for justice" stands in stark contrast to reality. Under McMahon's council leadership, his Chief Executive explicitly cited time as a barrier to justice for a 12-year-old victim of repeated gang rape. The hypocrisy is breathtaking. Here is the extract from the Assurance Review confirming this. Read the last sentence.
7. The Political Shield
The review proudly claimed to address "politically motivated conspiracy theories" about political protection of grooming gangs. One crucial detail: investigating senior politicians' involvement wasn't even within the review's scope. Yet somehow, it still managed to reveal that Shabir Ahmed, the Rochdale Grooming Gang's ringleader, not only had Labour Party connections, he worked for Oldham Council where he had access to children.
8. The False Closure
Their attempt to "draw a line under this" reveals perhaps the most damning truth: using parliamentary resources to defend the indefensible only deepens suspicions of complicity. This wasn't closure - it was containment.
9. Trust Without Truth
The call to rebuild trust rings hollow against the backdrop of 11,000 safeguarding referrals during this period. Oldham Council's steadfast refusal to clarify how many involved grooming gangs speaks louder than any carefully crafted statement.
The Leadership Vacuum
The deafening silence from Labour leader Keir Starmer - who has yet to suspend Angela Rayner, Debbie Abrahams, or Jim McMahon—reveals a party more concerned with protecting its own than protecting children. That not one mainstream media outlet has picked up this story of power abused and trust betrayed suggests a system designed to shield the powerful rather than serve justice.
A National Disgrace
This isn't just Oldham's shame - it's Britain's. When politicians tasked with safeguarding communities instead use their influence to protect predators and suppress truth, they don't just fail their constituents - they betray the very foundations of civil society.
The victims deserve more than carefully worded statements and limited reviews. They deserve justice. And those who chose power over protection must be held accountable.
The question isn't whether there was a cover-up. The evidence is clear. The question is: how much longer will we allow those responsible to hide behind their positions while justice remains unserved?
