The Unveiling of Hypocrisy: Cllr Marc Hince's Nazi Allegations and Labour's Culture of Cover-ups

The Unveiling of Hypocrisy: Cllr Marc Hince's Nazi Allegations and Labour's Culture of Cover-ups

In a shocking development that continues to tarnish the reputation of Oldham Council, Cllr Marc Hince finds himself at the centre of a scandal involving Nazi imagery and unacceptable behaviour. The Daily Mail (one of many national news outlets) recent coverage only scratches the surface of a deeply troubling pattern of misconduct, evasions, and outright fabrications from Cllr Hince and the Labour Party's refusal to address it transparently.

A Nazi Uniform By Any Other Name

Let's be clear about why this is accurately described as a Nazi uniform, not merely a "German military uniform" as Hince attempts to sanitise it. The uniform he chose to wear featured three swastikas and an Iron Cross—specific political symbols of the Nazi regime, not just standard military insignia. While some German military uniforms from WWII could be worn without Nazi insignia, Hince's uniform deliberately included multiple swastika emblems. His weak defense that "unfortunately WW2 German decorations and uniforms carry the swastika" is misleading - he chose a uniform with maximum Nazi symbolism. This wasn't just any military uniform; it was specifically Nazi Party regalia, complete with the most potent and provocative symbols of that genocidal regime.

Caught in His Own Web of Lies

Hince's claim to the Daily Mail that he donned this Nazi uniform "only once" at a community event over 12 years ago is demonstrably false. Evidence has surfaced - including videos of him wearing the uniform, complete with swastikas, in his living room the night before a recent election. This was not an isolated incident, nor was it a historical reenactment for educational purposes. It was a deliberate act that speaks volumes about his judgment and character. Who wears a Nazi uniform at home, whilst a candidate for election, and sends out video messages?

His attempt to hide behind the Yanks Weekend celebration in Saddleworth is particularly galling. While others may have worn period costumes, Hince's choice to wear Nazi regalia - complete with three swastikas and an Iron Cross - reveals his true inclinations. He claims he merely "borrowed" the uniform from a friend who "attended many WW2 events" for that single occasion over 12 years ago. Yet somehow, a Nazi uniform appears in recent video footage from his living room the night before an election. If it was just a one-time loan, why does he still have access to Nazi regalia? The contradiction exposes his explanation as a transparent attempt to minimise his ongoing fascination with Nazi symbolism.

From Nazi Salutes to Political Betrayal

Adding insult to injury, Hince's attempt to downplay his actions as a reaction to opposition councillors is laughable at best. His admitted use of "Sieg Heil" during a council meeting in May this year - now confirmed by the Daily Mail - was allegedly in response to another councillor's actions. The councillor he accuses, Cllr Louie Hamblett, is an openly gay advocate for LGBTQ+ rights - a glaringly inappropriate target for such a defence. Cllr Hamblett has no interest in Nazis. Hince's attempt to deflect blame is as offensive as it is transparent.

Revealed: The reason why Oldham councillor was called a ‘Nazi’
EXCLUSIVE: Speaking to MailOnline today, Cllr Marc Hince (pictured) said that ‘to the best of my knowledge’ it was the only time he had worn a Nazi uniform or memorabilia.

Labour's Machinery of Protection

This week's council chaos, where police were called after Hince was confronted about his behaviour, perfectly illustrates Labour's protective machinery at work. When Conservative councillor Lewis Quigg called out Arooj Shah's leadership as dictatorial, the meeting devolved into chaos. But this wasn't just about Hince or Shah - Labour needed to prevent a series of damaging revelations about departing senior officers and failed governance from coming to light. Their solution? Shut down democratic debate and call in the police. But who faced consequences? Not Shah. Not Hince. Instead, the system turned on their critics.

Greater Manchester Police, in an outrageous twist of justice, are now investigating reports of "racially aggravated public order" offences. Let that sink in: calling out a man who wears Nazi uniforms and seemingly performs Sieg Heil salutes is now being treated as a hate crime. Are we now in the business of protecting Nazi sympathisers under the guise of anti-discrimination laws?

The Deeper Rot: From Nazi Uniforms to Child Abuse Cover-ups

Now Hince plays the victim, claiming in his public statement that he and his wife face abuse, that his health has suffered. This from a man who has himself been warned by police for harassing a member of the public. His claims of victimhood ring especially hollow given his own record of intimidation.

But the public's anger runs far deeper than his Nazi sympathies. After getting elected on an independent ticket with promises to challenge Labour's control, Hince has betrayed every principle he claimed to stand for. He's now in a political pact with the very Labour Party he promised to fight. Most egregiously, he even voted against a Public Inquiry into the cover-up of gang rape of the town's children. The Nazi uniform scandal is just the visible symptom of a much deeper moral rot.

A Council in Crisis

The Labour leadership's desperate attempts to shut down the meeting went beyond protecting Hince - they were trying to prevent a series of uncomfortable truths from emerging. The sudden departures of Sarah Johnson, Director of Finance and Section 151 officer, and Paul Clifford, Director of Growth, raise serious questions about the stability of council leadership. The timing of these exits is particularly suspicious given the ongoing financial scrutiny the council faces.

Adding to this institutional chaos, the recent Peer Review delivered a damning verdict on Labour's attempt to install two internal chief executives, demanding the post be properly advertised externally. This rejection of proper process is emblematic of Labour's approach to governance. Which is only compounded by the revelation the night before the meeting of a £5 million sweetener agreed to be paid to a property developer by Oldham Council that has even got its lawyers severely concerned.

But perhaps most shocking is the council's recent approval of a children's home - in a property that belonged to a convicted child sex offender. In any other context, this might seem like a dark comedy. In Oldham, it's just another example of the council's catastrophic failure to protect the town's most vulnerable.

Looking at this catalogue of crises, we must ask: who really benefited from the meeting's abandonment?

  • Not the public, who deserved answers about departing senior officers.
  • Not the taxpayers, who deserved explanations about financial management.
  • Not the families concerned about the Places for Everyone scheme.

No - the only beneficiaries were those who needed to avoid scrutiny, those who needed to prevent uncomfortable questions about institutional failure, those who needed to hide the growing evidence of systemic dysfunction. The chaos around Hince provided the perfect smokescreen for this corrupt Labour administration to dodge accountability on multiple fronts.

The Systemic Corruption

The real scandal here isn't just Hince's disgraceful conduct - it's Labour's systematic protection of it. From Arooj Shah's car bomb cover up to the repeated malicious arrest of the social justice campaigner Raja Miah MBE, a disturbing pattern has emerged. Labour-run Oldham Council, with the backing of Andy Burnham's GMP, is weaponising law enforcement to suppress dissent.

This scandal erupted during a debate about the Places for Everyone (P4E) housing scheme - a controversial plan requiring Oldham to build 11,560 homes by 2039. The timing is telling: Labour had just lost a crucial vote on P4E, with the majority of councillors supporting withdrawal from the scheme. Yet when Cllr Quigg rightfully challenged the interim borough solicitor about blocking the mandated letter to the Secretary of State requesting withdrawal, chaos ensued. Rather than address this clear subversion of democratic process, Labour's machinery kicked into gear to protect their interests.

The pattern is clear: With Labour having lost its ruling majority, the party is desperately clinging to power through alliances with turncoats like Hince and the manipulation of council officers. Having campaigned as an independent promising to challenge Labour's control, Hince has instead become their reliable ally, backing them on everything from preventing auditors from examining the Council's finances to blocking investigations into child abuse cover-ups. When council officers obstruct the will of the majority - as with the P4E withdrawal letter - Labour and their allies cancel the meeting. It's a betrayal that goes beyond mere political expedience - it strikes at the heart of democratic accountability.

The Questions That Must Be Answered

The public deserves transparency and justice. I have shared the evidence of Cllr Hince's repeated use of Nazi imagery, including the video of him dressed as a Nazi the night before an election. It's time for Labour and GMP to answer:

  1. Why is a councillor who repeatedly dresses as a Nazi and performs Sieg Heil salutes allowed to remain in office?
  2. Why are opposition councillors being targeted while the real offenders are shielded?
  3. When will the media stop protecting Arooj Shah's gangster endorsed Oldham Labour Party run council and start exposing their systemic abuses of power?

Cllr Hince's actions are indefensible. But the Labour Party's complicity in suppressing criticism and weaponising the police force to protect their own is the bigger scandal. It's time for the people of Oldham - and the nation - to demand accountability from those who claim to serve them.

The evidence is out there. The question now is whether anyone in power has the courage to act on it. From the events of the last 48hrs, it does not appear so.

Do Not Fear Them. Do Not Fear Any Of Them.

My name is Raja Miah MBE. Oldham isn't just where I was raised - it's my home, my community, and the focus of my fight for justice. For over six years, I have worked to expose the deep-rooted corruption within Oldham Council and their systematic cover-up of child sexual exploitation. This work has come at a considerable personal cost.

Labour politicians have orchestrated multiple false arrests against me, though every prosecution attempt has collapsed in court. The Council's efforts to silence me through High Court action have also failed. Most disturbingly, Labour-connected Islamists have publicly endorsed my murder in an attempt to stop me from speaking out.

But this isn't about me. It's about our community. It's about standing up to corruption. It's about protecting the vulnerable and holding the powerful to account. It's about saving the place we all call home.

This battle cannot be won alone. Your support matters - not just to keep this work going, but to protect our community's future.
