Will Oldham’s Opposition Once More Fail Its People?
By now, both the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives in Oldham understand the stakes. Despite whatever spin the Council may offer, they are faced with a clear choice. At the heart of this lies a test of purpose. For the Lib Dems, it’s about standing firm for the values they claim to champion in our borough. For the Saddleworth Conservatives, it’s about demonstrating their commitment to protecting the greenbelt from the Oldham outsiders - a cause that defines why many vote for them.
Yet, based on the feedback I’ve received, it seems neither party is willing to fight. That reluctance is disappointing. But what truly cuts deeper is the reason behind it.
